Helen has been practicing pilates for 20 years and instructing Stott Pilates for 3 years. She is an advanced matwork trainer with experience in teaching small group classes and individual 1 to 1 pilates.

Years of experience as a secondary school teacher combined with a strong background in dance and movement made Pilates a natural choice for Helen when she was considering a career change in 2003. Helen is a dedicated educator and has a very friendly and approachable manner making pilates exercise suitable and achievable for the majority of patients. She is concerned with enabling people to achieve greater strength and control in movement with the aim of making the physical demands of everyday life easier. She also enjoys working with specialist sports enthusiasts with the aim of enhancing sports performance through specific and tailored pilates exercise.

Helen began her pilates training with a comprehensive Stott pilates matwork programme and quickly became fully qualified as an advanced Stott matwork trainer. Since then her experience and interest in one to one pilates has led her to specialise in the field of injury and special populations and has recently completed a further diploma in Exercise Therapy. At Healthflex Helen works alongside the team of physiotherapists in supporting the final phases of rehabilitation when helping patients recover from a range of muscular-skeletal problems. Helen focuses heavily on addressing postural issues with patients and designs a programme of exercises to address individual concerns.

Helen is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals as an Advanced Level 3 Instructor.
